Weekly Bread Run

Bread Run

A simple loaf can become a meaningful act of care for someone living close to home.

A weekly initiative Bread is delivered to homes in need.
Close To Home

Sometimes the person who needs help is already nearby.

The Bread Run encourages us to look around our own neighbourhoods and recognise people who may need a little support.

It may be someone next door, across the road or just a few houses away. A simple loaf of bread can become an easy and practical way to show care.

Keep It Simple

Helping does not always need to be complicated.

The idea behind the Bread Run is deliberately simple. Look for someone nearby who may benefit from help, collect a loaf and pass it on.

01
Look Around You Think about people nearby who may be in need.
02
Collect A Loaf A simple everyday item can become a practical act of kindness.
03
Drop It Off Pass it on when you are on your way home or going about your day.

The story of Rabi’a al-Basri and the loaf of bread.

The Bread Run carries a reminder drawn from the story of Rabi’a al-Basri, who gave away the only loaf of bread she had to someone in need.

She trusted that what was given in generosity would not be lost. Bread was later brought to her, but when some of it was taken to feed hungry children, she continued to place her trust in Allah’s promise.

The lesson is not about the size of what is given. It is about generosity, trust and being willing to share what we have when someone else needs it.

A small act can carry far more meaning than its size suggests.
